A little information on how I chose the name Willow Roots Therapy. For starters, I find that Weeping Willow trees have an immediate calming effect every time I see them. With a breeze, the leaves calmly move back and forth; you can have a nice picnic underneath the branches that cover you and you can get a nice shade during the hot days. I think that they are beautiful and majestic and are so often portrayed in movies and animations, showing Weeping Willows being magical, that just makes them even more attractive. And in a way they do hold powers.
Weeping Willows have healing properties and have been used to treat various illnesses in different cultures. According to Medical Daily, they can remove acne, minimize headaches, help muscle aches, can reduce the chances of a heart-attack, reduce pain due to arthritis and reduce PMS symptoms as well.
Roots are the foundation of the tree. Without them, the tree will not exist. If you do not water them enough, they can die. Weeping Willow’s roots are known for being very strong, they extend far, they go in and out of the ground and they can ruin foundations. Since I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, I tend to work from a family perspective. That means, that I may focus on your past to get to where you are currently at. That could be looking into your upbringing. It could be exploring into past relationships where your current reaction towards people may have something to do with how others have treated you. It could also be a single event that may have shifted your thinking or behavior. These are only examples of the topics that we might look into. As explained in my website, I use various counselling interventions and everything will be discussed and explored with you.
Thank you for joining me!
