Sophia Nicoli

Registered Psychotherapist

M.Sc. Registered Marriage & Family Therapist

My approach to therapy is a holistic one, catering to the needs of each client as everyone is different. I provide counselling to individuals, couples and families with emphasis on a Family Systems approach. However, the interventions I use can vary as I meet the clients’ needs, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory and Psychodynamic Therapy. The therapeutic environment is a safe space where confidentiality meets acceptance, understanding and support to each person’s concerns.

Some of the issues I focus on are depression, anxiety, communication skills, pre and post-marital conflict, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), intimacy issues and any day-to-day life concerns. When you come to your first counselling session, we will explore your reasons for taking the step to come and we will work together to create a treatment plan that will suit your needs. We will talk about what works best for you and how to continue our upcoming sessions. Every step we take we will take it together. As a participant in your journey I can provide you with the tools to manage your concerns in alternate ways, should you be willing and open to explore them. I will provide utmost care to what it is you need to explore and accomplish.

I obtained my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in New York State. My previous experience includes counselling individuals in a rehabilitation center, providing therapy in a private practice clinic to individuals, couples and families and providing counselling in a child and family counselling preventive program. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO and a Registered Marriage & Family Therapist with the CAMFT.

I provide services in Greek as well.
